Hi, my name is Larry Joiner
I’m a follower of Jesus who has learned, over many years, that some of the most meaningful conversations with Him happen in the quiet, in-between spaces of life. I’m not a counselor, a pastor, or a spiritual expert. I’m simply someone who has been deeply changed by the kindness of Christ and wants to point others toward the truth that He still speaks, still leads, and still meets us in the real moments of our days—in the hopes that they too can come to know and follow Jesus.
I write these devotionals because I believe Jesus reaches into the ordinary rhythms of life— when the house finally grows quiet, when rest won’t come, when responsibilities feel heavy, or when the heart longs for direction. My hope is to create a gentle place where you can slow down, breathe, and hear His voice speaking into your actual life, not an idealized version of it.
I use a writing assistant (an AI tool) to help with clarity, organization, and flow—much like a careful editor. It does not replace Scripture, the Holy Spirit, prayer, obedience, or real discernment. It does not hear from God. I always begin with God’s Word, with prayer, and with what I sense He is impressing on my heart. The tool simply helps refine the words.
My process is simple:
I seek God first through Scripture.
I listen for what He is pressing into my heart.
I bring the message, the Scriptures, and the stories He highlights.
The writing assistant helps shape the wording.
Jesus remains the center. My role is to follow His leading and speak truthfully; the tool simply helps shape the wording. Your role is to listen, discern, and walk with Him in the ways He is guiding you.
Each devotional is written with the prayer that it strengthens your faith and helps you take steady, practical steps with Him.
Whether you’re steady, searching, hopeful, or simply moving through the everyday, my prayer is that these moments with Jesus become part of your intentional rhythm—where you learn, grow, and walk out the truth He reveals.
Thank you for meeting with Him here.
